The oldest text of India is considered to be the Vedas. The altar is such a text in which we also get to know about the four varnas of ancient times, from which we know the name of Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras and the famous Gayatri Mantra is also taken from Rigveda itself.
Important feature of Rigveda
- Rigveda is the systematic knowledge of the riches, it has 10 mandalas, 1028 suktas and 10462 verses.
- Information about political system, history and glory of God is found in Rigveda.
- The famous Gayatri Mantra dedicated to the sun god Savitri has been written in the 3rd mandala of Rigveda composed by Vishwamitra.
